Marketing SMS Opt-In & Consent
How players give express written consent to receive PlanMyPickle tournament and league text messages. Last updated September 23, 2026.
Express opt-in only. PlanMyPickle never sends these texts unless a person actively checks the consent box, which is unchecked by default. Consent is not a condition of creating an account, registering for an event, or using the service. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
What this program sends
Promotional text messages from PlanMyPickle announcing upcoming pickleball tournaments and leagues near the person, with a registration link. PlanMyPickle (BITECADDY LLC) is the sender; consent is collected for PlanMyPickle alone.
- Frequency: up to 4 messages a month, sent 9 AM–8 PM Pacific.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Opt out any time by replying STOP, or by switching off “Tournament texts” in the app.

Where and how users opt in
Consent is collected on our web and app forms at https://app.planmypickle.com, on two surfaces that work identically:
1. Create Account (sign-up) form
The person types their own mobile number into the Phone field, then ticks the consent checkbox further down the same form, then presses Create account.
2. Event Registration form
The same field and the same checkbox, in the same order, above the Register button. The person must tick the box themselves; it is never pre-selected.

What the person sees at the point of consent

1. The person enters their own mobile number.
2. Further down the same form: the consent checkbox, unchecked by default, with the full disclosure printed beside it, the Privacy Policy and Terms links, and the submit button.
After opt-in
- We send one confirmation text: “PlanMyPickle: You're in for local tournament and league alerts, up to 4/mo. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to end, HELP for help.”
- We record the time of the tick, the exact wording shown, and the network address it came from, as proof of consent.
- We message only about events in the counties where the person actually plays.
